I acknowledge that my practice is based in Burlington, Ontario, on the Treaty Lands and traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. This land is part of the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement between the Haudenosaunee, the Anishinaabeg, and allied Nations to share and care for the land and waters around the Great Lakes.
I recognize that this territory has long been home to many Indigenous peoples, including the Anishinaabeg, the Haudenosaunee, and the Métis, and that Indigenous peoples continue to live on and care for this land today.
I also acknowledge that I live, work, and play on Indigenous lands across what is now known as Canada, including both treaty and unceded territories. My clinical work extends across Ontario, Manitoba, and British Columbia, taking place on many distinct Indigenous lands, each with their own Nations, laws, and traditions.
I offer this acknowledgement with respect and humility, and with a commitment to ongoing learning in my work with Indigenous individuals, families, and communities.
